  • Self-Help Group on the Topic of “Human Dignity”

The only and most honest help is the help to self-help!

    Why Self-Help?

We kindly ask for prior registration, as the venue may change depending on the date. We offer two sessions per month to accommodate everyone while keeping the group size manageable — therefore once per month per participant. Address: Hebborner Berg 51 or Paritätischer Odenthaler Str. 19, venue will be announced upon registration.

    What Do the Participants Say?

    Gerda

After a traumatic event, it was an incredible stroke of luck for me to find Conny and the LovefullME self-help group. For more than three years I have been attending the meetings. The group evenings offer every participant the opportunity to talk about a difficult life situation. In a safe and protected environment I was able to speak about myself and the emotional pain I experienced at the time, and I was met with openness, understanding, appreciation, respect and loving attentiveness.

I was able to let go and was caught, and in the end I was able to go home feeling relieved and strengthened. Just knowing that this group exists brings a sense of comfort — and here too it holds true: no one is alone, together we are strong.

    Thank you Conny

    Dani

I feel well supported in the group because I can talk about my thoughts and feelings in front of attentive and empathetic people. That feels good and helps me to better understand my worries and find a solution for them.

I very much enjoy attending our Dignity Group, as the confidential setting and the warm-hearted people there make it easy for me to open up. No matter what topic is on my mind — everything is welcome. At the end of every meeting I feel encouraged and go home with a better feeling.

    How Do We Work?

Our groups place human dignity at the center of everything. Participants have the opportunity to share personal experiences and challenges — whether related to their own dignity or that of others. Together we develop approaches to solutions for challenging life situations.

What Makes Our Self-Help Groups Special?

    Goal:

We offer support and guidance to preserve dignity even in difficult moments. Our work helps to discover one’s own strength, reflect on how to handle challenging situations and experience self-efficacy.

    Group Facilitation:

Experienced facilitation ensures that the exchange takes place in a protected and respectful setting.

    Participants:

The groups are open to people from all walks of life. Diversity is an enrichment, and every voice counts.

    RULES:
    • Confidentiality: Everything stays within the group.
    • Respect: Every opinion is acknowledged.
    • Free Speech: Everyone has space to share.
    • Active Listening: Non-judgmental listening is at the heart of what we do.
